Credit & counterparty risk analytics

A physical cargo can be worth tens of millions, and the buyer’s ability to pay matters as much as the price. We bring together everything you know about each counterparty, including outstanding exposure, payment history, liquidity indicators and sovereign risk flags, into one view your credit team can check before a high-value deal is signed.

The problem

Where it hurts today

  • Exposure to one counterparty is spread across trading, invoicing and treasury systems.
  • Credit checks are done by email, after the trader has already agreed terms.
  • Warning signs such as slower payments or a country downgrade are noticed late.

Data we bring together

  • Open trades and mark-to-market values
  • Invoices, payments and days past due
  • Letters of credit, guarantees and limits
  • Counterparty financial statements
  • Sovereign and country risk ratings
  • Internal credit approvals

How Azico builds it

Four stages, each one usable on its own

01

One exposure figure

Open trades, delivered-but-unpaid cargoes and outstanding invoices are added up per counterparty and group, net of the security you hold.

02

Limits and usage

Each counterparty’s approved limit is shown against current and projected exposure, including deals still being negotiated.

03

Early-warning signals

Payment behaviour, liquidity ratios and country flags are scored, and a change in score is flagged to the credit team.

04

Pre-deal check

Before signing, a trader or credit officer sees in one screen whether the new deal fits the limit and what would change.

What your team sees

  • +Exposure against limit for every counterparty
  • +Counterparties whose risk score changed this week
  • +Country and sovereign exposure
  • +Pre-deal check with headroom after the trade

Questions it answers

  • “How much do we have at risk with this buyer if we sign today?”
  • “Which counterparties have started paying later?”
  • “What is our total exposure to this country?”

What we need from you

  • Trade, invoice and payment data
  • Your credit policy and current limits
  • The ratings and risk sources you use
  • A credit manager to agree scoring rules
